The St. George School of Fine Art is uniquely placed in the southern suburbs of Sydney, Kogarah and has hosted a long history of producing fine artists including George Gittoes and Fiona Hall.
The Art School is a creative hub where students can develop their individual talent in a unique atmosphere of exhibitions, fieldwork drawings, workshops, studio residency and internship programs. It offers students the opportunity to develop a creative approach to painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and printmaking through the mentoring of practising artists as teachers. Additionally there is a strong emphasis on developing practical and employability skills through simulated and real work placements in both the Diploma and Advanced Diploma stages of study.
Scheduled guest lectures, studio visits and technical workshops are programmed to establish and build on workplace opportunities and careers as well as providing students with the opportunity to enhance their skills and techniques relevant to employment within the Fine Arts industry and study pathways to higher education. Students are also able to fast track their qualifications at St. George when successfully qualifying for recognition of prior learning (RPL).
